Yes, both boys are now pre-approved for America :) Now come on Family Court!!!! (I don't actually know the status of our case for FC. We should get an update around the middle of the month, or I may see our attorney this week. I'm just hoping that we are out or will be soon!)We're having another fun day. The boys woke up early (6 am) this morning and were ready to play! Right now, they are zonked out for a nap, and I expect that they will sleep for a while :)
Gerson -- This child is a sweetheart. He is so eager to please and so good to his brother. Whatever he has, he makes sure that Elviz has it, too. He is getting much better about letting us help him, but it is obvious that he is accustomed to taking care of himself. He is fairly accepting of affection, but so far he does not initiate. He likes to have his back rubbed, his hair played with, and his hand held . . . oh, and he is incredibly ticklish. He cracks up when I make voices for Teddy Grahams and Animal Crackers, and he finds it especially amusing to bite their heads off as "they" cry out for mercy. . . he is funny and fun-loving. Gerson is also a very quick learner and is interested in everything. He says that he wants to go to school, and he is soaking up everything that he can on the computer. http://www.starfall.com/ has been so much fun for him! He repeats every sound and every word, and he remembers sooooo much!!!! He knows many English words (animals and objects), but he cannot tell me anything in English. He thinks my Spanish is hilarious :)
Elviz -- Little Elviz (pronounced more like "L"-Bez than anything else) is a boy with an attitude. It took me a couple of days to figure out that Elviz has a speech impediment ("t" sound for s), but now that I know it, I can actually understand him a bit!!! He generally doesn't ask for anything that he wants, but instead waits for you to ask him. He has no problem asking for help or relying on us. He doesn't speak or repeat anything in English, except for "and me" and last night he started saying "catch". Still, though, I think he talks more than Gerson (and that is a lot!). Elviz was more stand-offish at first, but now he is ready for affection! He climbs in our laps and lays his head on us all of the time. If he sees us holding Gerson, he wants "in"!!! Also, if we hug or play with Gerson, he says, "and me" and reaches for us. Today, he kissed me while we were playing without being asked. . . that'll melt you! As sweet as he is, he is just as much a punk at times. He disagrees with his brother, even when Gerson is trying to give him his way. He pouts, he sulks, and he sticks out his lip. . . but he smiles, he laughs, and he giggles three times as much!
So, that is just a little bit about these amazing children!!! Gerson and Elviz are more than I could ever put into words, and I am not just writing empty Momma-speak. . . they are incredible, and I love them ALL THE WAY!!! Papi feels the same :)
PS - Adjustable waist pants are terrific, but they can only do so much!! We are struggling with pants today :)
