I have so, so many pics that there is just no way to put them on here!!! Uploading these few is taking forever, anyway. . .
When we got to outside to meet the boys, Gerson walked right up to me and just leaned in. He did not hug me, just lean in. Elviz was crying for some reason when we got outside, but once he saw his brother come over to us, he stopped and came over, too. He let me hug him, and he let Michael pick him up, but at first he was just limp. It did not take long - before we even left the hogar, they were both reaching for us to pick them up and to hold their hand. These pics are from the first meeting --

The experience at the hogar cannot be explained. We were swarmed by children who desperately needed and wanted attention and love. Two girls in particular grabbed hold of me, and did not let go. Linda & Jessica hugged me more today than I think anyone else in this world has on a cumulative basis (remember the no hugging rule does not apply to children). They were amazing. . . all of them.

Sara -- I love this girl! She is so smart!!! (Jessica was unhappy that Sara took her spot here!)

Amigos -- Lucas, Gerson, Kevin, & David -- This is very funny to me. It seems that Gerson is mad at Kevin about something. Every time that they would pose for a picture, David would call for Kevin, and Gerson would leave. And back in the room when we were looking at the pictures, Gerson made a strange face when I named Kevin. Ha ha ha - boys have drama, too!!!
The boys have been doing great with us. Gerson was scared when he woke up from his nap, and he cried (quietly) a little at bedtime tonight. He is responding very well to me. Elviz has had a few breakdowns, but he is easily comforted by Papa. He is definitely a Daddy's boy. I do think that they have had a very fun day. They have giggled and played like nobody's business, and I am sure that we will have even more fun tomorrow.
Elviz loves his cheap sunglasses. He napped with them and pretty much held them all day :)

Jordan, the boys love to eat chicken fingers!! They cleaned their plates, and they even like to dip :)

Gerson liked the honey mustard so much, that he just eat it alone (with 2 forks) when he ran out of chicken!

They really like to watch TV. What cracked me up was that at every commercial, Gerson pointed and told me that he liked everything - ha ha ha, I guess that was a hint!!!!

Elviz has a deep voice, and a deep laugh -- it is so cute!!!

The boys really liked their new pajamas, but notice they are both pulling their pants up -- we definitely brought the wrong sizes for both of them!!! As much as Elviz likes his cheap sunglasses, Gerson likes the bubbles. He had to take those to bed tonight.

Here they are all sacked out for the night --

Day 1 went really, really well. I have had a little bit of rejection from Elviz, but nothing bad and definitely not much. The boys are very easy going and love to have a good time. I think that Gerson would eat non-stop if we offered, but he always gives Elviz the first bite and the last bite of everything (even candy) -- it is the sweetest thing! I am so, so thankful that I have a little bit of bad Spanish. It is a HUGE help! I keep reading that kids do not care about grammer and blah blah blah -- that is a lie, people! Gerson laughs at me and corrects me. . . but it really works out great b/c I mess up, so he is not afraid to try to use some English words. Elviz knows no English, Gerson knows just a little. (Jenn, I would say that Sara communicates in English about 10 times better than Gerson!) We have not really had any problems communicating though. For the most part, they just keep talking no matter what! It is so funny b/c if I do not respond to Elviz, he just repeats himself LOUDER! Basically, he yells at us all the time :) I love these boys more than I could ever explain, and I am so blessed to be here with them!!!!

Krystal,
I wish the President of Guatemala would read your blog. Then he would know how blessed these children truly are. Only a heartless person could consider trying to stop bringing families such as yours together. God Bless you guys. This blog touched my heart.
